In reply to Jim Cassidy. Ok thanks for the information. Honestly I think Van Til's very hard to grasp and very complex (even with Edgar's and Oliphint's annotations although they are of course still very herlpful). I began to take notes and write (and custom) the books, otherwise I think it's impossible to understand him and to digest his views. Personnaly I'm taking my whole holiday to do it.

Most certainly true! But the core underpinnings of Van Til’s thought manifest themselves throughout all his writings. In that sense, one can start anywhere. Though Defense is arguably his most important work.

I think, as many say, the best place to start for grasping Van Til’s thought is his Christian apologetics and The defense of fhe faith.

Jim, You've caught my eye, especially as you directly single out us Evangelical Calvinists alongside the Barthians (a very appropriate coupling). But I will be interested to see how you attempt to frame Van Til's reading Barth's theology in light of Barth's theology itself.
