& ecclesiastical can be proven from Jesus’
remark recorded in the 3 “synoptics”
Mark 12:17 And Jesus answering said unto
them, Render to Caesar the things that are
Caesar’s, and to God the things that are
God’s. And they marvelled at him.

Something I notice in our current Reformed milieu is the reticence of many to use the Old Testament in a normative way, especially the way Gillespie and the Presbyterians use it, when speaking of things like church polity or ethics.
