Tooany seminar students seeing types on every line of OT. THere is a real difference between types and allegory and to mistake one for the other at a PhD level is shocking.

I loved the Clowney quote that the New Testament is “the answers in the back of the book to the odd numbered problems”so that we can do the even numbered problems in the same way. The connections of Jehoiachin to Mephibosheth, Joseph coming out of prison, Joash, and Solomon are fascinating and instructive.

It was helpful to summarize the rules of an appropriate biblical hermeneutical approach to typology and then fitting the life of Jehoiachin within the pattern of redemptive history was very interesting.
