I especially appreciated the new insights of seeing Boaz’s righteous dealings with this vulnerable woman in contrast to the Levite and his concubine in Judges, and the perspective of levirate marriage concern for the possible “seed of the woman” of Genesis 3:15. I had seen it primarily about maintaining the dead Israelite’s stake in the Promised Land so that his name would not be “blotted out.”
