In my attempt to fall back asleep at 2 a.m., I popped up this podcast. Just not boring enough to fall asleep to. However, I did drift in and out, so perhaps I did not hear if a 3rd option to the interpretation of Heb 6:4-6? The first two possibilities being whether the author was speaking of 1. those truly saved or 2. simply partakers who finally reject Christ. The 3rd possibility being that the author was simply speaking in a hypothetical fashion – that being that “if such an experience of a true believer took place, their rejection of this “full revelation” would leave the impossibility of renewal since they have had all the revelation they’re going to get (maybe like some Pharisees who Jesus warned of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.)
My last thought is that the word “impossible” is so strong, therefore that this may be referring to those in group “2” above, does not leave room for repentance at a later date. This could lead to a contrary position that The Spirit could yet finally open the eyes of one who once denied such revelation.
I would love to hear your team’s thoughts on this.
Thanks for your dedication to this program! Your brother in Christ, Thadd
