Having lived in Beijing for several years, and gotten to know a little about Christian and church life there, the more common term is “unregistered” church (rather than ‘house church’). I visited an unregistered church that had converted an entire floor of an office building into a large worship space and class rooms, etc.

With all the expats in Beijing, it is seriously disappointing that there is no Presbyterian/Reformed English-speaking congregation for foreigners. If there *was,* it would significantly and positively influence local/native congregations.
