He challenges T. F. Torrance’s view that Christ assumed a fallen human nature in The Unassumed Is the Unhealed.

Dr. Johnson and his colleague, John Clarke, argue that Jesus assumed a fallen human nature in order to redeem fully his people (cf. 2 Cor 5:21). At the same time, they argue that the nature Jesus assumed was immediately sanctified, and therefore they affirm Christ’s impeccability. That being said, none of the panelists agree with that position.

The book is a solid effort and worthy of study. I’m glad we were able to speak with Dr. Johnson, and I hope that as a result of this interview, people would interact with his theology. We would like to address the matter more fully on a future episode.
