Benjamin, I thought the illustrations in this book were excellent. It is obvious that much care was taken to avoid violating the second and third commandments. As I mentioned in the review, the illustrations are quite creative. The author uses examples and analogies to explain abstract concepts about God, and the illustrations reflect the examples used. The only illustration that could come even remotely close to representing an image of God is a picture of a manger that contains a wrapped present. Personally, I don’t have any concerns about this particular image. I think the image represents the idea that Christ was a gift, rather than representing Christ himself. I’d be happy to email you a picture of that page if you have any concerns. Just send a message to mail@reformedforum.org and I’ll respond. Overall, this is a great resource for families that I highly recommend.
