It demands that my ‘self-conception as male or female’ be based on the body I might have had if Adam and Eve had not sinned rather than on the intersex body God gave me. There are a number of intersex conditions that result in a body that is clearly female by Biblical standards yet which would likely have been male in a pre-Fall world.

Sadly even most post-19th century Bible translations get it wrong re arsenokoitai and malakoi (e.g. 1 Corinthians 6:9), which is why I avoid them as yet another example of the incompetence of work done by “committees” as with likewise incompetent General Assemblies.

So long as (like with most professing Christians) the sadly illiterate and ignorant PCA takes its understanding and definitions of terms from the world versus God’s Perfect Word, it’s doomed save for God’s intervention he does not owe us. In my youth in the ’60s decent people talked about “marital relations” and “holy matimony” versus today’s depraved “having sex” even in the “christian” pulpit, a vile scam of the ungodly sadly so riotously successful in brainwashing professing Christians. To be sure we have misappropriated cultural machismo and other unhelpful traits to what it means to be a “man.” Yet it is Paul that uses terms like “effeminate” and “quit (act) ye like men.” These do in fact have meaning, and can we really think Paul could have ever dreamed one of the nuanced definitions of what it means to be a man is the “gay aesthetic?”
