Dr. Rowland Ward speaks about his historical and theological masterpiece God & Adam: Reformed Theology and the Creation Covenant. While there has been, and continues to be, much debate over the precise relationship between the pre- and post-lapsarian covenants, Dr. Ward provides one of the most well researched and carefully documented studies of the development of covenant theology from the 1st to the 21st Century. Tracing the history of Covenant Theology through the Westminsterian tradition of the 17th Century to the Murray-Kline debate of the 20th Century, Dr. Ward provides an invaluable resource for theologians, pastors and seminarians. This work is truly an indispensable study for anyone desiring to understand God’s covenantal dealings with His people.

FYI: The first link says “Know Presbyterian…” instead of “Knox Presbyterian…”

Thanks for the notice. It has been fixed.

Thanks so much for this episode. Understanding the place of the Mosaic covenant has been one of the most perplexing questions for me over the past two years. I’ve been dragged around by the various reformed positions, but I’ve struggled to make final conclusions on it. I appreciated Dr. Ward’s honesty about in the difficulty of the question; indeed, if Owen thought it was hard, I feel justified in wrestling with it too!

I hope to pick up Dr. Wards book soon!

I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naïve. (Romans 16:17-18)
