This might be a reprint of Congar’s book entitled Tradition and Traditions, which I interacted with when writing my dissertation. Heiko Oberman’s argument persuaded me that Tradition 1 was the view of the ancient church that the Reformers were eager to maintain over against Trent which adopted Tradition 2. Congar and others have rejected that interpretation of Trent, but I still think Oberman is correct. Thanks for reviewing.

If I remember correctly, Tradition and Traditions was a massive volume, so this might not be a reprint of that book.
