Issues in Biblical Theology

In this episode, we survey several biblical texts and explore the biblical theological features that unfold throughout God’s Word. We consider a biblical theology of the darkness upon Christ’s crucifixion, the use of vineyard imagery for covenant blessings and curses, the glory of the Lord upon the temple, among many other rich biblical themes.

I have heard it suggested that Golgotha was given its name because David buryed Goliath’s head there. This is possibly referenced in 1 Sam 17:54 – “And David took the head of the Philistine and brought it to Jerusalem, but he put his armor in his tent. “. This would fit nicely in the biblical theological thread that starts in Gen 3:15. I have not heard this idea come from someone with a redemptive historical background. Although it is a bit speculitive, is there anything that would limit or cause someone to avoid this connection?
