The Usefulness of the Cross

What does suffering have to do with the life of the Christian? Is suffering something we just have to endure until that time that we will have the victory in Christ? To address this matter, we turn to a classic article by Richard B. Gaffin, Jr., “The Usefulness of the Cross,” The Westminster Theological Journal, Vol. 41 No. 2 Spring 1979, pp. 228–246.

I feel the same, I have been listening with more frequency to CTC, PC, and also TSP. I am stimulated by the conversation, and learning a tremendous amount as I go. I currently attend a non-denominational church, where the teaching is biblical, and sound, but the discussions are not as these…Thank you brothers…

Dr. Gaffin’s article means so much to me personally. And I am trying to show my people in my nation (China) its utmost relevance in our situation. To understand and DO Christian suffering in the biblical and eschatological reality is so crucial. Thank you Dr. G, and Reformed Forum brothers.
